Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into various National Diploma programmes of Maritime Academy of Nigeria (MAN), Oron, for the 2022/2023 Academic Session.

MAN Available ND Programmes

The duration of National Diploma (ND) programmes is two (2) years, divided into four (4) semesters.

The following programmes are on offer:

i. Nautical Science
ii. Marine Engineering
iii. Electrical/Electronic Engineering
iv. Maritime Transport and Business Studies

MAN Post UTME Eligibility

1. Candidates who select Maritime Academy of Nigeria as their First (1st) Choice Institution in the 2022 UTME and scored above the required cut-off Mark as stated below are eligible for post-UTME registration.

2. UTME Cut-off mark

a. Nautical Science – 175

b. Marine Engineering – 175

c. Electrical/Electronic Engineering -175

d. Maritime Transport and Business Studies – 160

3. Candidates seeking admission into the Academy must have a functional and accessible electronic mail address (E-mail) and mobile phone number for correspondence. Candidates are not required to present themselves physically except on invitation through the Website Publication and E-mail/text messages.

MAN Post UTME Requirements

Senior School Certificate Examination or its equivalent and JAMB Subject Combination.

i. NAUTICAL SCIENCE

O-LEVEL SUBJECTS
Applicants Must possess Senior Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent with at least FIVE CREDIT passes in subjects which must include.
• Mathematics
• English Language
• Physics
• Geography
• and any other related Science subjects obtained within the last Five years in NOT MORE THAN TWO SITTINGS.

UTME Subject Combination:
• English Language
• Mathematics
• Geography
• Physics

ii. MARINE ENGINEERING AND ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC ENGINEERING

O-Level Subjects
Applicants Must possess a Senior Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent with at least FIVE CREDIT passes in subjects which must include:
• Mathematics
• English Language
• Physics
• Chemistry
• and any other related Science subjects obtained within the last Five years in NOT MORE THAN TWO SITTINGS

UTME Subject Combination:
• English Language
• Mathematics
• Chemistry
• Physics

iii. MARITIME TRANSPORT AND BUSINESS STUDIES

O-Level Subjects
Applicants Must possess a Senior Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent with at least FIVE CREDIT passes in subjects which must include:
• Mathematics,
• English Language,
• Economics,
• Geography/Commerce.
• and any of Geography, Commerce, Government, Financial Accounting and Business Management obtained within the last Five years in NOT MORE THAN TWO SITTINGS.

UTME Subject Combination:
• English Language
• Mathematics
• Economics
• Geography/ Commerce/ Government/ Principles of Accounting

Physical and Medical Fitness:

Due to the peculiar requirements of the Institution and the maritime industry as well as International Convention on Standard of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping (STCW) as amended which mandates all seafarer to be physically and mentally fit to work in the maritime industry, all applicants are expected to be physically and mentally fit to be able to withstand the rigours/challenges of the cadetship training.
Consequently, shortlisted candidates will be required to present themselves for physical and medical screening when invited.

Candidate should print-out Application Medical Examination Form (Form M) from the application portal. This form should be duly completed and signed before upload on the portal.

Candidate are expected to undergo the following medical tests at any Government Hospital and upload medical results on the application portal.

1. PCV

2. VDRL

3. HBV

4. HIV1/2

5. PT (Pregnancy Test for Females)

6. URINALYSIS

7. GENOTYPE

8. BLOOD GROUP

• The medical test must be carried out within the period of the online Registration.

• The results uploaded on the portal is subject to further confirmation when invited for Screening.

Marital Status

• Applicants must be single and shall remain single throughout the duration of the programme.

Age Limit for Each Programme

• Candidates applying for Nautical Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering and Marine Engineering must be between the ages of 16 and 21 as of 31st October 2022.

• Candidates applying for Maritime Transport and Business Studies must be between the ages of 16 and 25 as of 31st October 2022

How to Apply for MAN Post UTME

The online application will commence from 12th September 2022 and end on 11th October 2022.

Screening Fee: N2,000.00

Payment Platform: Remita.

1. Eligible candidates should log on to the Academy website www.maritimeacademy.gov.ng and take the following steps:

2. Click on Admission– HND/ND Registration Portal

3. Login with UTME number as Username and Jamb Score as Password

4. Generate a RRR and Print the Payment Slip

5. Proceed to any of the banks of your choice to make payment using Remita Payment Platforms

6. Return to the Academy Portal to Complete the Registration Form.

ADVISORY

i. Candidates with incomplete registration will be automatically disqualified.
