The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the date for the commencement of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) mop-up exercise.
According to the Board, the mop-up examination has been scheduled to hold on Saturday, 13 June 2026, for candidates who presented themselves for the 2026 UTME and were successfully verified biometrically but could not sit the examination due to one reason or another.
The 2026 UTME was conducted between 16 and 29 April 2026. However, some examination centres experienced technical challenges that prevented a number of candidates from taking the examination.
In addition, some results were later withdrawn over examination infractions, while some candidates who presented themselves for the examination could not be verified biometrically. All affected candidates have been listed for the mop-up examination.
JAMB stated that the mop-up exercise represents the final phase of the annual UTME process and is aimed at addressing all outstanding examination issues involving candidates who encountered difficulties during the main examination.
Candidates eligible for the mop-up examination are advised to begin printing their Examination Notification Slips from Saturday, 6 June 2026.
The Board further urged affected candidates to print their notification slips early, familiarise themselves with their assigned examination centres, and make all necessary preparations ahead of the examination date.
The board emphasised that there will be no further opportunity for any candidate to sit the 2026 UTME after the mop-up exercise.
